Adviser to the prime minister, Rana Sanaullah said on Tuesday that Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir has no personal agenda and will return home directly after retirement, not the PM or president house.
Speaking on Samaa TV’s programme "Nadeem Malik Live", Sanaullah said: "The two parties are not enemies. There is no problem with the PPP. The two parties have worked together several times. While one party holds a spirit of enmity, the PML-N does not wish to reciprocate."
Sanaullah said that Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has the right to express his views, even if some find them mistaken. He added that Bhutto-Zardari spoke about the flood victims, which Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz did not appreciate.
He added that the PML-N does not wish to reciprocate enmity towards the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
He said: "CM Maryam has the right to comment on Punjab affairs. She is not Usman Buzdar."
Recalling that PML-N President Nawaz Sharif decided before the election that he would not lead a coalition government, saying, "Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif would place the premiership at Nawaz Sharif’s feet."
"If Nawaz Sharif wishes to become prime minister, he does not require any recommendation," he added.
He stated that political discussion will not go far, but questioned what politicians would do if they did not speak at all.
Regarding Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Gen Syed Asim Munir, Sanaullah said he has no personal agenda and will return home directly after completing his term. The Field Marshal will not visit the Prime Minister’s House or the President’s House.
Sanaullah urged the current political leadership to come together and resolve their political problems through dialogue. He assured that there would be no interference from ‘that’ side.
