Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Sunday he was pleased to visit Malaysia and hoped the visit would enhance bilateral relations between Pakistan and Malaysia.
According to details, the premier has arrived in Kuala Lumpur on an official visit to Malaysia. He was received with royal protocol and warmly welcomed by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
The visit, made at the invitation of his Malaysian counterpart, aims to reinforce relations between the two countries. At Kuala Lumpur airport, Shehbaz Sharif was greeted by the Malaysian information minister, the Pakistani High Commissioner and diplomatic staff. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi accompanied the prime minister.
Upon arrival at his residence, the Malaysian prime minister welcomed PM Shehbaz.
The two prime ministers are scheduled to hold one-on-one talks followed by delegation-level meetings. Discussions will focus on cooperation in trade, information technology, the halal industry, energy, the digital economy and on increasing people-to-people contacts. Agreements and memoranda of understanding will be signed across various sectors.
