Heavy rains have caused widespread destruction across Nepal and northern India, with dozens of fatalities reported.
According to details surfaced on Sunday, in Kathmandu and surrounding regions, landslides and flooding have killed 47 people. Nine individuals remain missing. Several bridges and connecting roads have been swept away by the water.
The Government of Nepal has declared a national holiday on Monday and Tuesday.
In India, the tourist area of Darjeeling also experienced landslides following severe rainfall, which resulted in the deaths of 20 people.
