The State of Palestine has welcomed efforts by United States President Donald Trump to end the war in Gaza, and has called for a halt to the annexation of Palestinian land and the forced displacement of its population.
The Palestinian leadership expressed confidence in the United States' role in securing a ceasefire. It affirmed its willingness to work with the United States and regional countries to achieve peace.
The leadership also emphasised the importance of humanitarian assistance, the release of prisoners and hostages, and the adoption of effective measures to protect Palestinian civilians and uphold the ceasefire.
Palestine confirmed its commitment to the creation of an independent and sovereign state under a two-state framework. It declared its intention to conduct presidential and parliamentary elections within one year of the conflict’s end.
The leadership also pledged to establish a modern, democratic and demilitarised Palestinian state. It announced that the national curriculum would be aligned with UNESCO standards within two years. A decision has been made to abolish laws that allocate funds to the families of martyrs and prisoners.
