Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed US President Donald Trump’s newly announced 20-point peace plan, aimed at ending the war in Gaza and resolving the long-standing conflict between Palestine and Israel.

Prime Minister Sharif said Trump’s plan to bring peace to the region is a positive step forward. He stressed that sustainable peace between Palestine and Israel is vital not only for the Middle East but also for wider regional stability.

US commitment to peace efforts
The PM noted that President Trump has expressed readiness to provide full support for peace-building efforts in Gaza. He welcomed this commitment, adding that Pakistan views constructive US involvement as crucial for breaking the cycle of violence.
"US President Trump is ready to provide all possible assistance for peace efforts," he remarked.
Sharif also praised the role of Trump’s Special Envoy, Steve Witkoff, in facilitating the initiative.
Two-State solution as guarantee of peace
Underscoring Pakistan’s stance, Sharif reaffirmed that the two-state solution is the only guarantee of lasting peace between Palestine and Israel. He emphasized that without a viable Palestinian state alongside Israel, peace efforts will remain incomplete.
Praising US leadership
In his statement, the Prime Minister commended President Trump’s leadership for putting forward the plan and acknowledged Washington’s role in pushing forward diplomatic efforts.
