The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested a suspect near the Afghan border, accused of harassing and blackmailing Iraqi women. The operation followed a request from the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.
A team from the NCCIA Peshawar Circle carried out the raid in Upper Dir and arrested Mustafa Khan. The suspect contacted women on social media, deceived them with marriage promises, and misused their photographs and video call screenshots.
He allegedly hacked the social media accounts of an Iraqi family and used private data to extort money. Some material was made public through a fake account created in a girl’s name.
According to sources, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry sent a formal letter to the Director General of the NCCIA, prompting the operation. The area of the arrest lies only a few kilometres from the Afghan border.
