Saif Hassan and Towhid Hridoy led Bangladesh to a narrow victory over Sri Lanka in the 13th match of the Asia Cup Super Fours at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 168 for 7 in their 20 overs. Dasun Shanaka top-scored with 64 runs from 37 balls, including six sixes. Kusal Mendis contributed 34 runs from 25 deliveries.
Bangladesh replied with 169 for 6, reaching the target with one ball to spare. Saif Hassan scored 61 runs off 45 balls, while Towhid Hridoy added 58 runs from 37 deliveries. Litton Das contributed 23 runs.
Sri Lanka's bowling was led by Wanindu Hasaranga with two wickets, while Mustafizur Rahman took three wickets for Bangladesh.
Sri Lanka lost early wickets but Shanaka’s late surge kept them competitive. Bangladesh’s batting partnership between Saif Hassan and Towhid Hridoy proved decisive.
Extras accounted for three runs in Sri Lanka’s innings and three in Bangladesh’s reply.
Bangladesh won by four wickets, keeping their hopes alive in the tournament.
