India secured a 21-run win against Oman in a dead rubber fixture of the Asia Cup at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Friday.
Batting first after winning the toss, India posted a total of 188 for 8 in their 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma led the charge with a quickfire 38 from 15 deliveries, including five fours and two sixes. Sanju Samson contributed 56 off 45 balls, while Tilak Varma added 29 from 18. Aamir Kaleem and Jiten Ramanandi claimed two wickets each for Oman, while Shah Faisal also picked up two at a more economical rate.
In reply, Oman made a strong start with a 56-run opening stand between captain Jatinder Singh and Aamir Kaleem. Kaleem top-scored with 64 off 46 balls, supported by Hammad Mirza’s 51 from 33 deliveries. However, despite the solid foundation, Oman fell short, finishing at 167 for 4. Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh took a wicket apiece for India.
