Data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) revealed that credit card purchases and payments reached Rs169 billion in August 2025, which marked a 31.6 per cent increase compared with August last year.
Consumers had spent Rs128 billion via credit cards in August 2024. The monthly comparison showed a 3.6 per cent growth in August 2025 over July, when credit card transactions totalled Rs163 billion.
Earlier, it was reported that remittances from overseas Pakistanis reached $3.1 billion in August 2025, according to the State Bank of Pakistan on Monday.
While inflows rose by 7% compared to last year, they dipped by 1% month-on-month, reflecting mixed trends in the country’s foreign income support.
