The Interior Ministry has approved the purchase of 20 double-cabin vehicles for the Islamabad police and administration, sources confirmed on Thursday.
The decision aims to strengthen mobility and operational efficiency for officers in the federal capital.
Equal distribution between police, administration
According to details, the newly purchased vehicles will be divided equally, with 10 allocated to the Islamabad police and 10 to the city administration. This move will ensure that both sectors have improved resources for field operations and administrative duties.
Vehicles for ACs, senior officials
All eight assistant commissioners of Islamabad will be provided with double-cabin vehicles under this arrangement. In addition, the additional deputy commissioner general will also have access to one of the new vehicles.
Boost for police operations division
On the policing side, SPs posted in the Operations Division will now be able to use double-cabin vehicles. Senior officers, including the SSP (operations), SSP (investigation), SSP (security), and the chief traffic officer (CTO), have also been designated to receive the vehicles.
More additions next month
Sources revealed that from next month, the Islamabad Police’s SP (Dolphin) will also be provided with a double-cabin vehicle, enhancing patrolling capabilities in the city.
