An earthquake has struck parts of the country including Islamabad, Punjab and several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to details surfaced on Thursday, tremors were felt in Charsadda, Chitral, Lower Dir, Khyber and Landi Kotal.
The ground also shook in Mardan, Malakand, Buner, Upper Dir and Jamrud. Tremors were reported in Nowshera, Abbottabad and surrounding areas.
Shocks were also felt in Mohmand district, Shangla and Swat. Hangu, Swabi and Bajaur were among the other affected regions.
Moreover, tremors were felt in Kallar Syedan, Taxila and Wah Cantt, causing panic among residents.
Strong shocks were also recorded in Kallar Kahar, Hasan Abdal, Kalabagh and nearby areas.
The ground shook in Chakwal, Choa Saidan Shah and Talagang as well.
Tremors were also felt in Islamabad and Peshawar as an earthquake struck several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The shocks extended to Swat, Battagram, and Bajaur.
According to the seismological centre, the earthquake measured 5.9 in magnitude with a depth of 111 kilometres.
The epicentre was located in Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush region.
