India has released more water into the Sutlej River, causing a massive flood surge that has washed away thousands of acres of standing crops.
Water has entered villages including Rukanpura and Kothi Fatah, damaging houses and causing losses worth millions.
Electricity poles have also been swept away, while residents have been forced to migrate. Our correspondent Maqsood Kaifi is on the ground with an affected villager. Maqsood, please update us.
