The Chinese foreign ministry said on Friday that China remains Pakistan’s most reliable partner and staunchest supporter, regardless of shifts in the international landscape.
According to a message shared by the ministry's spokesperson on the social media platform X, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad as part of his official visit.
The spokesperson emphasised that the traditional friendship between China and Pakistan remains steadfast and unbreakable. He reiterated that no matter how global dynamics evolve, the bond between the two nations remains unaffected.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi undertook an official visit to Pakistan from August 20 to August 2025. During his visit, he held meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal General Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
The visit formed part of the sixth China–Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue. Its agenda focused on advancing the second phase of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC 2.0), as well as enhancing bilateral trade, economic cooperation, defence, security, and regional stability.
