The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 16-member squad for the forthcoming Asia Cup, slated to happen from September 9 (Tuesday).
According to details surfaced on Friday, Bangladesh would start their Asia Cup campaign on a high after trouncing Pakistan 2-1 in their home shores. Bangladesh wicketkeeper batter Qazi Nurul Hasan was inducted into the squad after almost three years.
Bangladesh have preferred to pick up six all-rounders. Saif Hassan, Shamim Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, Shaif Uddin would be the part of Bangladesh squad.
Meanwhile, the Tigers have picked up four frontline bowlers. Mustafizur Rahman, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Taskin Ahmed, and Shoriful Islam would be part of Bangladesh in the prestigious multinational tournament.
Interestingly, Bangladesh have picked up four wicketkeepers in their squad. Litton Das, Jaker Ali, Nurul Hsan Sohan, and Parvez Hossain Emon would be part of the squad.
It is pertinent to note that Bangladesh would launch their Asia Cup campaign with the match against Hong Kong on September 11 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
