Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been crowned the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Player of the Year for 2024/25, becoming the first player in history to win the award three times.
The 33-year-old Egyptian, who joined Liverpool in 2017, delivered another outstanding season, finishing as the Premier League’s top scorer with 29 goals and also contributing 18 assists as the Reds clinched their record-equalling 20th league title, finishing 10 points clear of Arsenal.
Salah has already swept the Premier League Player of the Season, Golden Boot and Playmaker Award, making him the first player ever to win all three in a single campaign.
Third-time winner
Salah first lifted the PFA trophy in 2018, after a stunning debut season at Anfield, and again in 2022. This year, he topped a six-man shortlist voted for by fellow professionals across the 92 Premier League and Football League clubs.
The nominees included his Liverpool teammate Alexis Mac Allister, Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, Arsenal’s Declan Rice, and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer.
