The Islamabad district administration has announced that all hiking trails, major parks, and selected tourist attractions in the capital will remain closed to the public on Wednesday, August 13.
Trails and parks affected
According to the official notification, Trail 2 to Trail 5, as well as the trail leading from Saidpur Village, will be closed for visitors. Popular leisure spots, including Lake View Park, Daman-e-Koh, and Shakarparian Park, will also remain off-limits.
The closure extends to the Pakistan Monument, a key tourist landmark that usually draws large crowds ahead of Independence Day celebrations.

Earlier, the Islamabad district administration declared a local holiday in the federal capital on August 13. According to a notification issued by District Magistrate Irfan Nawaz Memon, August 13 has been declared a local holiday within the revenue limits of Islamabad.
The notification clarified that essential services and institutions will remain operational during the holiday, including the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), Capital Development Authority (CDA), ICT Administration, ICT Police, Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), and all hospitals.
Authorities, institutions, and ministries concerned have been instructed to disseminate the information to their staff and ensure its broadcast through press and media channels.
