The Crime Control Department (CCD) has requested 290 kanals of land, funding of Rs11 billion and the recruitment of 10,000 personnel to expand its operations across Punjab.
According to official sources, the CCD has submitted a formal demand to the provincial government for the construction of police lines on the proposed land. The requested funds are earmarked for the development of 38 police stations and residential quarters for officers.
The department has further sought 100 advanced drones and ten German-made locators to bolster its surveillance capabilities. Officials stated that the additional resources will be deployed to dismantle organised criminal networks and stabilise the law enforcement presence throughout the province.
Authorities have made it clear that current resources are insufficient to deal with the scale of gang-related activities in Punjab. The proposed expansion is intended to improve the operational readiness and coverage of CCD units across the region.
