Pakistan women's cricket captain Fatima Sana has received an official reprimand for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the first T20 International against Ireland, held in Dublin on Wednesday.
According to the International Cricket Council (ICC), Fatima was found to have breached Article 2.8 of the Code, which concerns ‘showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an international match’.
The incident took place in the 13th over of Pakistan’s innings. After being given out caught behind, Fatima remained at the crease before leaving slowly — an act deemed to display dissent.

One demerit point has been added to Fatima’s disciplinary record. This was her first offence within a 24-month period.
Fatima admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Graham McCrea of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees. As a result, no formal hearing was required.
On-field umpires Roland Black and Gareth Morrison, along with third umpire Aidan Seaver, laid the charge.
Level 1 offences carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee, and the addition of one or two demerit points.
