Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha has said that Pakistan would seek to capitalise on the tariff opportunity.
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV programme "Nadeem Malik Live", Ranjha said: "American investors have shown interest in investing in Pakistan, particularly in the sectors of agriculture and mines and minerals."
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Nisar Jatt said that Pakistan has never engaged with the United States on business matters. He added that the country has lacked a consistent economic policy and stressed that future decisions must be brought to parliament. According to Jatt, politicians must play their role if Pakistan is to adopt long-term policies.
Jatt said that under current conditions, investors are not ready to come to Pakistan. He added that the United States has never supported Pakistan on the Kashmir issue and is unlikely to do so. He also remarked that the armed forces and the soldiers stationed on the border are held in the highest regard.
He asserted: "Justice has not been served over the events of May 9 and that those incidents were used for political purposes."
