New Zealand captain Tom Latham has been ruled out of the ongoing series against Zimbabwe after failing to recover fully from a shoulder injury.
According to New Zealand Cricket (NZC), Latham did not pass the fitness test and will therefore not take part in the second Test match.

Head coach Rob Walter expressed regret over Latham’s absence, stating that it is a setback for the team.

In his absence, Mitchell Santner will continue to lead the side in the second Test.
New Zealand have added Bevon Jacobs to the squad as batting and fielding cover in order to maintain team strength.
The series forms part of New Zealand’s tour of Zimbabwe.
