Shubman Gill has overtaken Sunil Gavaskar’s longstanding record of 732 runs against the West Indies in 1978–79, becoming the highest run-scorer for India as a Test captain in a single series.
He has also surpassed Virat Kohli, who amassed 655 runs against England in a Test series during his captaincy in 2016.

England won the toss and elected to field first in the decisive Test match held in London. Ollie Pope is leading England in the absence of regular captain Ben Stokes, who has been ruled out due to injury.
