Earlier, Pakistan Champions owner Kamil Khan has also confirmed that the Green Shirts have advanced to the final of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 after being awarded a walkover in the scheduled semi-final against India Champions.
Expressing his thoughts Khan said: “Whether or not India declined to play, the WCL awarded us a walkover. Their position was clear — if one team fails to play the semi-final, the opposing team will proceed to the final.”
He added that the walkover had officially secured Pakistan Champions’ place in the final. “We have qualified for the final through the WCL’s decision,” he said.
Khan said the outcome would have remained unchanged. “It makes no difference that we did not play the semi-final. Given the standard of cricket we have played in the earlier rounds, the result would have been the same,” he said.
He added that his team had been preparing for the match regardless of the opponent. “We were focused on preparing for the match. The identity of the opposing team is not a concern,” he said.
Looking ahead, he said that attention now turns to the final. “We will now see whether we face Australia or South Africa in the final,” he maintained.
