Samaa TV President Nadeem Malik has dispelled rumours that the channel is being sold off, announcing on Saturday afternoon that the reports are nothing but mere speculation, baseless and unfounded
Addressing the channel's staff on a virtual screen at the head office, the senior journalist highlighted the achievements of the channel through its coverage of the India-Pakistan war and countering the Indian media propaganda with factual, on-site, live coverage.
Nadeem Malik also announced that in the coming days, Vision Group Chairman Aleem Khan is set to announce the annual increment for the staff, which has been much-awaited by all the employees as per past tradition. He also said nine employee bonuses have been awarded over the past four years since Aleem Khan took over the channel, while salaries have been increased regularly each year.
Over the past four years, the company has significantly increased the salaries of its low-wage employees, hiking the minimum salary of employees up to Rs60,000.
Malik said Samaa TV has earned a distinguished reputation by promoting fact-based journalism and high editorial standards, while also raising its voice against Indian aggression on global platforms. The organisation remains steadfast in its mission to uphold journalistic integrity at both national and international levels, he added.
Furthermore, Mr Malik appreciated all the employees for demonstrating outstanding professional performance and announced that, in line with their performance, they would be promoted in the coming months, as the performance review process was underway.
