The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has initiated further proceedings against the Pakistan Netball Federation after receiving no written response to a notice regarding a false claim of first place in the 2025 Asian Youth Netball Championship.
A show cause notice was issued to the federation, asking why a fine of Rs1 million should not be imposed. The notice followed an earlier letter dated July 13, in which the PSB asked the federation to explain a misrepresentation within 72 hours. No reply was submitted within the given timeframe.
According to the PSB, this silence may be interpreted as an admission of misrepresentation. On July 9, the Netball Federation had written to the board seeking a cash award for securing first position. However, official results show that Pakistan placed sixth in the competition.
The false claim was also repeated in media interviews and public statements, according to the PSB. In the absence of a response within seven days, the board has stated it will proceed with unilateral action.
