The deadline set by the chief traffic officer Lahore for enforcing helmet use among motorcyclists has ended, prompting a strict crackdown across the city.
Traffic police have set up checkpoints on key roads and intensified monitoring.
In just two days, more than 26,000 motorcyclists were fined for not wearing helmets.
Authorities said that since January, over 150,000 fines have been issued to violators.
Traffic officials stated that 90% of riders have now started wearing helmets, while action continues against the remaining 10% who are still non-compliant.
The enforcement drive remains active on model roads and other major thoroughfares.
