Religious parties across the country have scheduled an All Parties Conference (APC) for July 23 in Islamabad.
The conference has been called by Milli Yakjehti Council (MYC) President Sahibzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair, while Islami Tehreek Pakistan chief Allama Sajid Naqvi will serve as the host. According to details, MYC Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch has sent formal invitations to all religious parties.
A three-point agenda for the conference has been issued. Discussions will focus on the system of religious seminaries, punishments related to marriage contracts (nikah) and laws concerning interest (usury).
Measures to curb rising terrorism in the country will also be addressed. In addition, a unified stance on the issues of Palestine and Kashmir will be presented.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has confirmed his participation, while Allama Sajid Naqvi has reached out to other leaders via telephone to ensure broad representation.
