Torrential rainfall in Lahore on Wednesday disrupted flight operations at Allama Iqbal International Airport, resulting in significant delays for several domestic and international flights.
According to airport authorities, the heavy downpour that began early in the day impacted visibility and ground operations.
A private airline’s flight 401 from Lahore to Karachi departed after a delay of over an hour, while another Karachi-bound flight experienced a 44-minute delay.
Similarly, flight 629 operated by a foreign carrier en route to Doha took off with a 30-minute delay.
Flight 625 to Dubai, also operated by a foreign airline, was delayed by 30 minutes. Meanwhile, a private airline’s service to Dubai was delayed by 44 minutes.
Flight 745, scheduled to depart for Istanbul, had not departed by the time of filing this report.
Airport officials said operations had been temporarily suspended earlier in the day due to the intensity of the rainfall. However, flight movement resumed gradually as weather conditions slightly improved.
