The Power Division issued on Tuesday notification to abolish the Pakistan Television (PTV) Corpration from electricity bills.
According to details, the Power Division has directed all power distribution companies (Discos) to abolish the PTV fee immediately.

It is pertinent to note that the federal government had decided to eliminate the Pakistan Television (PTV) license fee currently charged through electricity bills in a major relief move for electricity consumers across Pakistan, according to official sources.
An official announcement is expected soon, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif set to make the final declaration.
At present, around 40 million electricity consumers in the country are required to pay a fixed PTV fee, contributing approximately Rs1.5 billion every month. This translates to nearly Rs16 billion annually collected from residential, commercial, and industrial users, regardless of whether they watch PTV or not.
