Pakistan’s exports reached US$29.56 billion in the first eleven months of the current fiscal year, marking an increase of 5.15 per cent compared to the same period last year.
This rise reflected an improvement of US$1.44 billion over the previous year’s performance during the corresponding months. The increase underscored a modest but steady growth in external trade, driven by key sectors.
Textile exports stood at US$16.36 billion, representing a 7.37 per cent increase year-on-year. Basmati rice, fish, tobacco and sugar were among the other commodities showing improved export figures during the reporting period.
Between July and May, Pakistan exported 765,000 metric tonnes of sugar, generating revenue of US$411 million.
