Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghaddam expressed on Wednesday deep gratitude to the people and government of Pakistan for their unwavering support and solidarity with Iran in the face of Israeli aggression.
In a special message issued to convey Iran’s appreciation, Moghaddam said that the Iranian nation will never forget the Pakistani people’s support and brotherhood. He described this moment as a "historic" victory for the Muslim world.
He said that Iran succeeded in forcing a powerful and aggressive enemy into a ceasefire. He extended heartfelt thanks to the government and people of Pakistan for standing shoulder to shoulder with Iran.
The ambassador expressed particular gratitude to President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Gen Asim Munir. He also acknowledged the support of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Defence Minister Khawaja Asif. Additionally, he praised the Pakistani parliament, religious scholars, political parties and media for their commendable stance.
Moghaddam lauded the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) for its consistent support for Iran at all international platforms, including the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
He said by emphasising that the solidarity between the people and governments of Iran and Pakistan is both "historic and enduring".
