US President Donald J. Trump has hinted at the possibility of regime change in Iran, following what he described as “monumental” damage to the country’s nuclear facilities during recent US airstrikes.
In a series of posts on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Sunday morning, Trump celebrated the strikes, stating: “The damage to the nuclear sites in Iran is said to be ‘monumental.’ The hits were hard and accurate. Great skill was shown by our military. Thank you!”

Minutes later, Trump went a step further, raising eyebrows with a provocative suggestion. “It’s not politically correct to use the term ‘Regime Change,’ but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!” he wrote, using an acronym that echoes his former campaign slogan.

The president also responded to Republican Congressman Thomas Massie, who had earlier criticised the Iran strikes as unconstitutional. “We had a great military victory yesterday in which we took the bomb out of Iran’s hands (and if they could, they would have used it),” Trump claimed, without offering any supporting evidence.

The remarks come in the immediate aftermath of US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites in Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow—strikes that have been condemned by Tehran and several other countries at an emergency session of the UN Security Council.
Iran’s UN envoy Amir Saeid Iravani has called the attacks a violation of international law and warned that Iran retains the “complete and lawful right” to respond.
China, Russia, and Pakistan have already condemned the strikes at the UN Security Council, calling them a breach of Iran’s sovereignty and a dangerous escalation.
Chinese envoy labelled the strikes a “dangerous violation” of the UN Charter, while Russia’s Vasily Nebenzya called them a “humiliation of the international community.”
Pakistan’s envoy Iftikhar Ahmad urged the Security Council to support a resolution demanding an unconditional ceasefire and resumption of dialogue.
