Nine Iranian security personnel were killed in an Israeli attack on two military sites in the central province of Yazd, confirmed the Iranian officials.
According to details surfaced on Sunday, Iranian officials stated that the casualties included seven members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and two regular army soldiers.
On the other hand, Iran has called on the UN Security Council to convene an emergency meeting following US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. Iran’s UN envoy, Saeed Iravani, sent a letter to the Council condemning the US actions as unwarranted air attacks.
He stated that the targeted facilities are under continuous supervision by the International Atomic Energy Agency and fully comply with the Safeguards Agreement and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
