Pakistan on Tuesday decided to recall some of its diplomatic staff and their families from Iran, according to officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The decision comes against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, which has heightened concerns over the safety of diplomatic missions in the region.
According to sources within the ministry, the measure is precautionary in nature and involves the return of non-essential staff and family members of some diplomats currently stationed in Iran.
Despite the partial withdrawal, officials have confirmed that Pakistan’s diplomatic presence in Iran will continue uninterrupted. "Our embassy in Tehran and consulates in other cities will remain operational," a senior official said.
"Only those whose presence is not immediately required have been asked to return."
