U.S. President Donald J. Trump has denied French President Emmanuel Macron’s statement that he left the G7 Summit in Canada to work on a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump criticized Macron, calling him “publicity seeking” and claiming the French leader “always gets it wrong.” Trump stated that his return to Washington had “nothing to do with a ceasefire” and hinted at a much larger issue behind his departure.
“Wrong! He has no idea why I am now on my way to Washington, but it certainly has nothing to do with a Cease Fire. Much bigger than that,” Trump posted, adding “Stay Tuned!”
The remarks signal continued tensions between the former U.S. president and European leaders, as well as growing speculation about Washington's next steps amid the escalating Israel-Iran conflict.
