A lone survivor was found in seat 11A of the crashed Air India flight and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Speaking to Indian private news agency ANI, he said, "The police found one survivor in seat 11A. One survivor has been found in the hospital and is under treatment. Cannot say anything about the number of deaths yet. The death toll may increase as the flight crashed in a residential area."
According to international media, a surviving passenger said that about 30 seconds after takeoff, there was a loud noise, and the aircraft crashed soon after. "It all happened very quickly," he said.
It is worth mentioning that the Boeing aircraft crashed into a medical college hostel in the Indian city of Ahmedabad. There were 242 people on board, but only one survivor has been reported so far.
The crash also claimed the lives of five MBBS doctors who were having a meal in the mess on the top floor of the hostel building.
