Pakistan and the United States have formally commenced bilateral negotiations on mutual tariffs for enhancing their trade relations.
In a telephone conversation, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb engaged with the United States trade representative. Both sides exchanged views in a constructive environment.
According to the Ministry of Finance, this initial engagement was part of a broader effort to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries. Discussions addressed key issues such as tariffs and trade barriers.
During the call, both parties agreed to hold detailed technical-level negotiations in the coming weeks, aiming to conduct an in-depth review of mutual concerns and develop practical solutions.
It is pertinent to note that the development came at a time when Pakistan was actively engaged in negotiations with international financial institutions and trade partners to achieve economic stability.
