Sharifullah was scheduled to appear in a Virginia court on 5 March, according to US officials.
The US Department of Justice had filed charges against Sharifullah for involvement in a deadly conspiracy. He had confessed to his role before the FBI, admitting to aiding in the planning of the Kabul airport bombing.
According to the report, Sharifullah had assisted the suicide bomber by guiding him to the route, while also monitoring US and Afghan checkpoints.
He had identified the suicide bomber, Abdul Rahman, who had carried out the attack.
The report revealed that Sharifullah had also been connected to the attack on the Russian city hall in Kirov.
In addition to this, he had admitted to assisting in several other attacks. If the charges were proven, Sharifullah could face a life sentence.
