Four terrorists allegedly involved in multiple attacks on police personnel were killed during a joint intelligence-based operation (IBO) carried out by Karak and Kohat police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Imran Khan, the operation was conducted in Dhandi Eidal Khel, within the jurisdiction of Sabirabad Police Station, following confirmed intelligence about the presence of suspected militants.
Police said the suspects opened fire as the security team moved in, prompting an exchange of gunfire. Four terrorists were killed during the encounter.
Authorities said the identification process of the slain militants is underway. A cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the site.
According to police, the group was wanted in several terrorist attacks and was allegedly involved in the killings of multiple police officers, including SHO Banda Umar Nawaz, Inspector Tahir Nawaz, DSP Asad Mehmood and Sub-Inspector Anar Gul.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police for carrying out the successful intelligence-based operation.
He commended the force's professionalism and reiterated the government's commitment to continuing operations against militant groups.
"The law enforcement agencies are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism, and operations against anti-national elements will continue with the same resolve," Naqvi said.
