The Excise and Taxation Department has announced a 15-day extension for the payment of vehicle token tax.
The new deadline has been set for January 31. The decision aims to provide relief to vehicle owners who have yet to clear their dues.
According to a department spokesperson, failure to pay the token tax by the new deadline will result in the cancellation of vehicle registration and fines of up to 200% of the unpaid amount. Citizens are urged to utilize this extension to avoid penalties and legal complications.
For the convenience of taxpayers, excise counters will remain operational until 8pm. Additionally, smart card users can pay their token tax through the Islamabad City App.
The Excise and Taxation Department has reiterated its commitment to ensuring maximum facilitation for citizens while encouraging timely compliance.
