Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan has directed party leaders to continue negotiations with the government, emphasizing the need to resolve national issues through dialogue, according to PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar.
Speaking to the media, Barrister Gohar stated that the PTI founder has permitted submitting two key demands in writing to the government’s negotiation committee. He suggested a third session of talks with the government for any progress in the negotiations.
"These demands are not for any deal; they are for the country and the nation. We propose forming a commission and securing releases of our political prisoners as part of the process," he explained, adding that the party's two demands will be submitted to the government in writing on the instructions of Imran Khan.
Barrister Gohar also highlighted that while communication had been established with the powers that be, the discussions did not progress. "We were not told about any possible release or relocation," he added, dismissing rumours of PTI leaders negotiating for personal benefits.
When asked by a journalist about Aleema Khan's comment that Ali Amin Gandapur conveyed a message for the PTI founder being moved to his Bani Gala house, Gohar said, "We were not influenced by any offers or promises. We did not sit for even a day for negotiations."
Separately, PTI parliamentary leader in the Senate, Barrister Ali Zafar, echoed that the PTI founder has allowed submitting their two demands to the government in writing; however, he clarified that this submission serves as a condition for resuming talks with the government.
In an exclusive interview with Samaa TV, Barrister Ali Zafar emphasized that if negotiations begin, critical issues such as elections, governance, and political reforms will also be brought to the table.
"We will also ask the government for a written charter of demands to ensure clarity and commitment during the negotiation process," Barrister Ali Zafar said. He expressed hope for constructive dialogue to address pressing national issues.
