Hindu extremists reportedly damaged three minarets of a mosque in the Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh, India. The incident occurred at the Mansuri Mosque in Malukpur area, where construction work was underway to renovate the old structure.
Local residents claim that Hindu extremists incited people to demolish the three minarets, labeling the mosque's construction as "illegal" despite its long-standing presence in the area.
This event follows a pattern of similar incidents across India. In Maharashtra's Kolhapur district, extremists allegedly attacked the Raza Jami Mosque, desecrating the Quran and damaging the structure along with nearby houses and shops.
Reports suggest that since the BJP government came to power, approximately one thousand mosques and other sacred sites have been targeted.
The U.S. and various human rights organizations have expressed serious concerns over actions perceived as anti-Muslim in India.
