The Petroleum Division of Pakistan has made significant progress in recent weeks, with support from SIFC. The division has been instructed to enhance communications with stakeholders in Saudi Arabia and China regarding Pakistan's offshore blocks.
The division is directed to address issues highlighted in the June 5, 2024 audit report and include all provinces in its planning. It's also tasked with establishing milestones based on set timelines to ensure project progress.
An interprovincial meeting on the regulatory framework for minerals is to be organized in collaboration with the Interprovincial Coordination Committee.
The Special Secretary of the Petroleum Division reported that all federal government mineral projects have been transferred to the new Minerals Wing, with consultants being hired.
The division is instructed to work with the Foreign Ministry on the option of importing LPG from Turkmenistan to improve energy resource supply.
The Reko Diq project is introducing modern mining and processing technologies in Pakistan, aimed at enhancing technical skills and technology in the country's mineral industry.
