Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Khawaja Asif said on Tuesday that the return of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to the country will be a ‘’big event''.
Addressing the party’s workers’ convention in Sialkot, Asif said, ‘’The passion of the party workers is increasing with every passing day. Nawaz Sharif is coming to the country to be the premier for the fourth time.’’
Speaking about the general elections, Asif said, ‘’The elections will be held in January. The process of delimitation has increased. The nation will announce its decision regarding choosing the government in January.’’
''We have paid the political price for the sake of the country. For the past one and a half years, the country’s situation has been worsening,'' Asif stated.
He praised PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, saying, ‘’During his tenure as the Punjab chief minister, he took historical initiatives to uphold the province. These initiatives are still being remembered by the people.’’

Asif expressed his gratitude to the PML-N workers, saying, ‘’The PML-N workers had frequently elected us. We had left the traces of serving the masses, irrespective of the fact that we remained in power or opposition.’’
‘’The economy of Sialkot had been strengthened with the inauguration of merely the motorway,’’ he added.
– Nawaz’s protective bail –
PML-N senior leader Rana Sanaullah said on Tuesday that the party’s legal team was prepared to secure former premier Nawaz Sharif’s protective bail.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Sanaullah lashed out at the political opponents, saying, ‘‘The country would not have been dragged into the quagmire if the politicians were not subjected to the political vendetta during the tenure of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).’’
‘’Even if we keep nabbing people, it will be a big injustice to the country. Those who had subjected us to the political vendetta, we did not forget them,’’ he added.
Speaking about the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), the former interior minister said: ‘’This is not a big deal that the PPP is making statements against the PML-N to garner votes.’’
