In an informal conversation with journalists from Adiala Jail, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan dismissed any ongoing communication with the country's military establishment.
He said that if any discussions with the establishment were to occur, they would be solely in the interest of the country and upholding the law.
Imran Khan expressed his admiration for the Pakistan Army, noting that "people love the army because they defend us." Despite being held in harsh conditions, describing his cell as "an oven," he emphasized that he is not seeking any relief or special treatment.
Drawing a parallel with Bangladesh, he remarked, "When the people in Bangladesh came out, they claimed their rights." He further asserted, "Only sheep are controlled with sticks, not humans," highlighting the importance of respecting human dignity.
The former prime minister appealed to the public, stressing that "the army belongs to everyone" and that Pakistan requires a robust institution. He warned that current actions by the authorities are akin to "suicide," expressing concerns over the nation's future.
"What they are doing is a suicide," he remarked.
Shifting focus to cricket, the PTI founder referenced the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), stating, "The PCB chairman mentioned the cricket team needs surgery, and now we’ve lost to Bangladesh." He questioned the qualifications of Interior Minister and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for being appointed to both offices.
"Restrictions in the jail are increasing, it seems their legs are trembling," Imran Khan noted.
