Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) termed the appointment of ad-hoc judges in the Supreme Court (SC) as an attempt to influence the decision of specific seats and announced to challenge the decision to the Supreme Judicial Council.
After the joint parliamentary party meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Sunni Ittihad Council (SIC), the members staged a protest march outside the Parliament House. On the occasion, slogans were raised for the release of the PTI founder.
Earlier, in the joint parliamentary party meeting of PTI and Sunni Ittehad Council, the implementation of the decision of the Supreme Court on specific seats was reviewed. Four points were discussed wherein opinions of all members were taken.
Barrister Gohar appealed to the Supreme Court to implement its decision, calling the appointment of ad hoc judges malicious and announced to take the matter to the Supreme Judicial Council.
Barrister Gohar said that the appointment of ad hoc judges in the SC is an attempt to influence the decision of reserved seats.
PTI chairman said that ‘ad hocism’ was harmful to independent judiciary and it would only increase mistrust in independent judiciary.
On this occasion, the leader of the opposition Omar Ayub demanded the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner.
It is said that posters of the Supreme Court's instructions are being blown up and the court is being insulted.
Chief Election Commissioner CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja and all his commissioners should resign immediately, otherwise Article 6 action should be taken against them.
Shibli Faraz said that the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), which claims democracy, should clarify its position instead of taking a middle path regarding the ban on PTI.
PTI leader Asad Qaiser said that the opposition alliance will be extended this month and announced to start a movement together with the opposition alliance very soon.
