The political landscape in Pakistan witnessed internal scrutiny within two major parties as show-cause notices were issued to senators regarding their actions during the resolution concerning the postponement of general elections in the Senate.
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) took a decisive step by issuing a show-cause notice to Senator Bahramand Tangi for his support of the resolution advocating the delay of general elections.
The notice, initiated by Secretary General Nayir Hussain Bukhari, explicitly highlighted the alleged violation of party policy. Senator Tangi was urged to respond to the notice within a week, failing which disciplinary measures would be considered.
Simultaneously, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) also issued a show-cause notice, this time directed at Senator Gurdeep Singh. The notice, put forth by Central Secretary General Umar Ayub Khan, questioned Senator Singh’s actions during the approval of the resolution regarding election postponement.
Senator Singh, who was present during the House proceedings, was asked to provide explanations within three days.

Specifically, Senator Singh was tasked with justifying why he didn’t indicate the quorum despite being in attendance during the resolution approval. Additionally, PTI sought clarification as to why he didn't oppose the forthcoming resolution for postponing the elections.
Both parties underscored the significance of prompt and satisfactory responses, warning of potential repercussions in accordance with their respective party regulations if the explanations were deemed unsatisfactory or remained unanswered.
