Pakistan on Wednesday urged the United States and Iran to uphold their commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and exercise restraint as tensions in the Middle East intensified.
In a statement, the Foreign Office said it was deeply concerned by the latest escalation and warned that renewed conflict would serve no one's interests.
"Pakistan calls on all parties to exercise restraint and refrain from any actions that may further undermine regional peace and stability. There is no alternative to continued engagement, dialogue and diplomacy to achieve the shared goal of peace in the region," the ministry said.

The Foreign Office urged all sides to honour their commitments under the Islamabad MoU, describing the agreement as "an enduring foundation for understanding, mutual respect and shared prosperity for the region and beyond."
The ministry also said Pakistan remained ready to continue playing a mediating role between Washington and Tehran in support of efforts to ease tensions through dialogue.
The appeal comes amid renewed strains between the United States and Iran, raising concerns about broader regional stability and the future of diplomatic efforts.
