Pakistan Railways has recorded its highest-ever annual revenue, earning Rs115.157 billion during the 2025-26 financial year, according to official financial documents.
The state-owned railway operator reported a 24.19% increase in revenue compared with the previous fiscal year, with growth recorded across passenger services, freight operations, commercial activities and property income.
Official figures show Pakistan Railways crossed the Rs115 billion mark for the first time, setting a new financial record.
The increase has been attributed to administrative reforms, improved financial management, expanded freight operations, better use of commercial assets and enhanced operational efficiency.
Hanif Abbasi credits reforms
Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi said the organisation had achieved the financial and administrative targets set by the government.
He said the milestone reflected the collective efforts of the railway team and added that the ministry would now focus on modernising the railway network, expanding freight services, improving infrastructure, accelerating digitalisation and enhancing passenger facilities.
