Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said Pakistan is raising the flag of success on every front and has earned global recognition as a country that promotes peace and stands for justice.
Addressing a ceremony at a private college in Sialkot, the minister also urged young people to pursue knowledge beyond academic degrees and become responsible citizens.
Asif said Pakistan has achieved unprecedented successes over the past few months and is now flying the flag of success across multiple fronts.
He said the country had defeated enemies many times larger than itself and that the world now recognises Pakistan’s success in what he described as the battle for truth and justice.
According to the defence minister, Pakistan has never witnessed a success comparable to this struggle for justice during its more than 70-year history.
Pakistan known as promoter of peace
The minister said Pakistan is now recognised around the world as a bearer of peace.
He added that Pakistan had helped save the region from a major war and that the international community acknowledges the country’s victory in the fight for truth.
Asif thanked the people of his hometown for their continued support.
“I will always remain grateful for the love and trust of the people of Sialkot,” he said.
Education is the greatest wealth
Speaking to students, the defence minister stressed that no wealth is greater than knowledge and said an educated society can never go bankrupt. He expressed concern that education has increasingly become focused on obtaining degrees rather than acquiring knowledge.
Asif urged young people to become productive and responsible members of society instead of pursuing qualifications alone.
He said education should equip students with knowledge, values and a sense of responsibility so they can contribute positively to the country's future.
