A family in the United States has had their pet parrot, Spoodles, recognised as the world’s oldest living parrot at the age of 32 years and 86 days.
Guinness World Records names Spoodles oldest living parrot
Guinness World Records confirmed that Spoodles, owned by Amanda Beth of Charleston, South Carolina, holds the title of the oldest living parrot. Amanda Beth stated that she often joked the bird never dies, which is why she continues to feed it regularly.

She added that Spoodles was given to her family in 1997 when it was just three years old. The parrot is now less talkative than before, although it still begins each morning by greeting with the words “beautiful bird”.

Beth said that the bird has a pleasant personality and that its former owner was a kind woman, reflected in its behaviour.
Parrots generally live 15–20 years in captivity
It is generally understood that parrots live between 15 and 20 years in domestic or caged environments.
